AMAN MORBECK
JOURNALIST
I was born in Goias state and grew up in Mato Grosso state in Brazil. When I got my first globe and saw where "I was", my traveler's spirit felt it would not be possible to stay in that small town my whole life with so much to be seen. I grew up dreaming of going further, traveling the world, getting to know other cultures, interacting with the different, learning. I traveled a lot in Brazil – and still do – and after quitting a steady and safe job to make my dream come true, I lived for three years abroad (1995-1998). I visited Mexico and Peru, lived in the United States (Virginia and Florida), backpacked throughout 11 countries in Europe, and lived for five months in Thailand where, among many other things, also backpacked from Bangkok to Mianmar border and part of Laos. I am deeply fond of travels and outdoor activities, especially mountain biking, trekking, and kayaking, photographing nature, and sharing what I live through my writing and photos. If you feel like getting in touch with me, email me at amanmorbeck@gmail.com.

Solidarity away from home
Many times fear prevents people from putting their feet on the road to be challenged by what is new. The strongest one is perhaps the feeling of being alone and abandoned when they are most in need but reality can be surprisingly more optimistic
